Joost Swarte

presents his work  Saturday June 2, 2012
Joost Swarte (NL) is the master of the clear line, a term for a drawing style he coined himself. Like no other he can tell a story in just one illustration. Swartes work consists of drawings, stamps, posters, postcards, LP and CD sleeves. He also draws covers, for instance for Dutch magazine Vrij Nederland, Belgian magazine Humo and The New Yorker. Moreover he designs furniture, stained-glass windows, murals, buildings and interiors. In 2012 Bijna Compleet (Almost Complete) was published, an overview of Swartes comic work, and he had a solo exhibition at Galerie Martel in Paris.
