Henning Wagenbreth (Eberswalde, 1962) makes powerful, graphic and colorful work. His illustrations and designs for books, posters, newspapers and magazines, ranging in size from stamps to posters, create a very personal universe. He considers printing techniques, manual and industrial, an important part of his designs, being a visible element in the final result.
Henning makes both commissioned and autonomous work, and he designs fonts, like the Prater Block. He also makes animations, films, theater and music, and he is Professor of Illustration at the Universität der Künste Berlin.
Recently he was involved in the creation of Ministerium für Illustration, a gallery for contemporary popular drawings and prints in Berlin. wagenbreth.com
