Job, Joris & Marieke present their work Saturday June 4

The work of Job, Joris & Marieke, studio for illustration, animation, character design and music, has a very distinctive style. The bright, fresh colors and great timing are characteristic, as well as the awkward characters that often get caught up in uncomfortable situations.

Besides making animation, Job, Joris & Marieke create music and sound effects for their own films. They won the Dutch Grand Prix for Animation and the Audience Award for their short film Mute in 2014. And their film A Single Life was nominated for an Oscar in 2015.

Job Roggeveen (1979), Joris Oprins (1980) and Marieke Blaauw (1979) all studied at the Design Academy in Eindhoven. They started their own studio in Utrecht in 2007. They always collaborate on concept and design. Once they know which technique they will use, they divide the tasks. Marieke will talk about her part in their successful creations, June 4.
