Sarah Yu Zeebroek from Belgium mainly draws on paper with gouache, paint and ink. She works intuitively, balancing on the edge between being in control and letting go. According to her, intuition can only be fully appreciated if there is confidence in letting go. She constantly looks for this field of tension in her work.
Sarah’s work shows the rich imagination that is part of her day and night dreams. Dotted with surreal scenes, often humorous but never seeking out for the humor. Sarah studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam and at the LUCA School of Arts in Ghent. She is also a musician in her band Hong Kong Dong, for which she creates the artwork. For their its latest album Kala Kala she even designed 100 different covers. sarahyuzeebroek.com
